The meeting took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on the sidelines of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen development cooperation between Thailand and Sri Lanka through Financial Assistance (FA) and Technical Assistance (TA). NEDA presented a List of Potential Collaboration Projects with Sri Lanka, aligned with NEDA’s Country Strategies for 2026–2030. The proposed projects cover three key development pillars: economic, social, and environmental development, while also supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and continue discussions with relevant agencies to assess the suitability and prioritize potential projects, as well as to advance financial and technical cooperation towards tangible outcomes. These efforts aim to further strengthen bilateral relations and promote sustainable development cooperation between Thailand and Sri Lanka.
