NEDA participated in the meeting to discuss and disseminate the Country Strategy between 2022 – 2027 and discuss (draft) the Potential Pipeline Projects in Lao PDR.
On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, Colonel Dr. Sarunyu Wiriyavejkul, Deputy Director of the Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) and the NEDA delegation attended a meeting to discuss with Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and representatives from the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Lao PDR. The meeting aims to publish economic development cooperation strategies with neighboring countries (Country Strategy: C.S.) between 2022 - 2027 and discuss (draft) a three-year Potential Pipeline project in Lao PDR, corresponding to the C.S., by the delegation. Besides, DED has paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Sthabandith INSISIENGMAY, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, to present Country Strategy 2022-2027 to MPI to acknowledge the direction of the NEDA’s development cooperation. Also, the report of project implementation of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) and discuss guidelines for the implementation of cooperation projects under the development goals set in C.S. during the years 2022 - 2027, as well as to sharing recommendations on the performance of the PDR Laos, as well as exchanging development guidelines in line with global megatrend changes such as technological changes, awareness of health and wellbeing, developing energy connectivity and the implementation of environmentally conscious projects. These projects were conducted to overcome good relationship of two countries.
Meanwhile, NEDA visited H.E. Sisomboon OUNAVONG, Director General, H.E. Symonmonekham MANGNOMEK, Deputy Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, MPI, and representatives from MOF to present Country Strategy 2022-2027 and report on Advance the implementation of ongoing ODA projects. Both Financial Assistance (FA) and Technical Assistance (TA) cooperate with discussing (drafting) 3-Year Potential Pipeline Projects in Lao PDR and exchanging guidelines for implementation. Cooperation projects for the development of the five goals to (draft) Potential Pipeline Projects with concrete results and sustainable development.
