Progress Check: NEDA’’s Journey to the 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Bung Kan–Bolikhamsai) in Lao PDR

Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and Mr. Kirati Veruwan, NEDA’s Vice President, traveled to monitor the progress of the construction project of the 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Bung Kan–Bolikhamsai) in Lao PDR. The project has progressed more than 90% and is expected to be completed in February 2025. Upon completion, the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge linkage is set to stimulate economic expansion, trade, investment, and tourism between Thailand and Lao PDR. This will also enhance the transport of goods from Thailand to markets in Southern China, at the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on June 13, 2024.

NEDA Collaborates with CIDCA on Financial and Academic Assistance Strategies in China’’s Mekong River Sub-Region
On April 4, 2024, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), along with a delegation from NEDA, met with Mr. Du Wei, Deputy Director-General of the First Department of Regional Affairs at the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). The meeting focused on discussing the direction, policies, and mechanisms of financial and academic assistance provided by the People’’s Republic of China in the Mekong River sub-region. During this meeting, NEDA introduced its role and mission to CIDCA, informing the agency of NEDA’’s key role as a Thai governmental body in fostering development cooperation in the Mekong River sub-region.
