Between 22 - 23 June 2023, Mr. Kirati Veluwan, Deputy Director of Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency and a delegation of NEDA together with a delegation from the Department of Railways of Lao PDR. Led by Mr. Hinpetch Lakhaowong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Railways, Lao PDR, assessing the completion of the Thai-Laos Railway Construction Project, Phase 2 (Thanaleng-Vientiane Line), part 2 It consists of a communication system for connecting between stations, train operation, request for train tracks (Token Block System), Level Crossing Point and others in Vientiane Station (Kam Sawat). It included interviewing people around the project site to survey their views, satisfaction and impact during the project implementation. In addition, there was a meeting with the Department of Railways of Lao PDR, led by Mr. Chaisongkham Manotam, Director-General of the Department of Railways of Lao PDR, on issues related to the role of the agency for preparing the project closing report and other related issues. The aforementioned project is a project that the NEDA creates financial cooperation with the Lao PDR is a loan project with a financial assistance amount of 994,680,525.69 baht. The current status of the construction project is completed in 2022.
