SAMARKAND, May 6, 2026 — The Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization), led by Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, Vice President and Acting Director of NEDA, and Mr. Rapipit Promnart, NEDA’s Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau, held a consultative meeting with Mr. A.N. Hapugala, Deputy Secretary to the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka), along with relevant officials. The meeting took place during the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan.
On this occasion, both sides discussed approaches for financial and technical cooperation in the sectors of renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and sustainable tourism. The Sri Lankan side presented key projects under its Public Investment Programme (PIP), such as solar energy projects, e-Government systems, and tourism infrastructure development. Both sides agreed to continue discussions with relevant agencies to further drive concrete cooperation.
