VIENTIANE, February 26, 2026— Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), signed a Record of Discussion (ROD) for Technical Assistance (TA) regarding the detailed design work for the Water Supply System Improvement Project, Phase 2, in the Lao PDR (Luang Prabang Province, Khammouane Province, Savannakhet Province, Champasak Province, and Vientiane Capital), alongside H.E. Viengnam Douangphachanh, Director General of the Department of Water Supply, Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Lao PDR. The ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Vientiane, and H.E. Mr. Leklai Sivilay, Minister of Public Works and Transport of the Lao PDR, along with representatives from relevant central and provincial agencies, at Meeting Room 1, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR. It is anticipated that upon the completion of the project study, NEDA and the Lao PDR will be able to jointly implement water supply system improvements across 9 districts/villages, enabling over 100,000 residents to sustainably access and utilize clean water at reasonable prices in the future.
