NEDA’’s Academic Cooperation with Chiang Mai University’’s Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration

On Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, a significant event took place when Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, the President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), held a consultation meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pailin Phujeenaphan, the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration at Chiang Mai University. This meeting also included key figures from both institutions, such as the Deputy Dean of the Department of Research, the Deputy Dean of the Department of Academics, and the Head of the Innovation Center.

The primary objective of this conference was to explore the possibility of academic partnership between NEDA and Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration. This collaborative effort aligns seamlessly with NEDA's overarching 20-year strategic plans (2020 – 2039) framed within the context of international knowledge development strategies, aptly referred to as the "Think Tank." Within the strategic framework, NEDA has meticulously crafted a two-pronged operational model for the fiscal year 2024. First, it aims to establish research partnerships, which will serve as conduits for augmenting research capabilities while facilitating the exchange of invaluable experiences, knowledge, and skills. Second, NEDA is committed to fostering awareness about its operations, particularly among the younger generation, through the "New Generation Policy Developers Competition." The anticipated outcome of this academic cooperation is the optimization of the collaboration between institutions, promising a synergy that will enhance the effectiveness of their joint efforts.
