NEDA Attends Opening of World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings 2024 and Engages in East Asia and the Pacific Discussions

On October 25, 2024, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), along with his delegation, attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF Board of Governors, featuring speeches from Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF, and Mr. Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, held at DAR Constitution Hall.

During the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) 2024, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, NEDA’s President, and his delegation met with Ms. Sudeshna Ghosh Banerjee, INF-Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific, and Ms. Melinda Good, Country Director for Thailand and Myanmar. The discussions focused on approaches to partner in project development, and risk assessment with NEDA’s neighbouring countries, as well as to address the challenges and lessons learned from the previous project implementation with particular attention to sustainability according to the Output and Performance-Based Road Contract (OPBRC) framework. The meeting was held in Meeting Room MC4-300, Washington D.C., United States.
