On November 11, 2024, Senior Col. Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), and Mrs. Jindarat Viriyataveekul, Public Debt Advisor, Public Debt Management Office (PDMO) of the Ministry of Finance of Thailand, jointly presided over the opening ceremony of the “NEDA Capacity Building Programme for the Officials Attached to Public Debt Management Office of The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka” at Public Debt Management Office (PDMO) of the Ministry of Finance of Thailand.
The program was held from November 11-15, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand, with a cooperation from the Thai PDMO in providing lectures and sharing best practices in public debt sustainability analysis and assessment, as well as structural and strategic public debt management. This Capacity Building Programme aims to assist Sri Lanka in establishing a PDMO and effectively developing its domestic bond market.
