On 14th November 2022, Colonel Saranyu Wiriyawetchakun, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and the representatives of NEDA including Mr Raphiphat Prommanarot, the Director of the Division of Policies and Plans, and Miss Chakriya Kattaleephan, the senior policy and plan analysis officer, welcomed the representatives from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) at the British Embassy led by Professor Adnan Khan, the Chief Economist and the Director for Economics and Evaluation (FCDO), and the representatives including 1) Kenn Especkerman-True, the South East Asia Regional Director for Economics and Trade Policy (FCDO), 2) Matthew Phillips, the Senior Research Analyst of FCDO, 3) Eleanor Kiloh, the Regional Director for Strategic Issues in South East Asia and the Pacific of FCDO, and 4) Tanatcha Supsin-Amnuay, the Economist, at the British Embassy in Thailand in order to discuss with NEDA while visiting Thailand regarding economic development challenges and socioeconomic development cooperation with the countries in Khong River Basin, especially infrastructure developments in order to support the linkages in the sub-region and to understand the obstacles affecting the socioeconomic development in the sub-region that will be applied to setting the development policies of FCDO and searching for partners for mutual and potential developments in the sub-region in the future.
