On 22 November 2021, Peeramet Wuttitoranetrak, the President of Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) joined the diplomatic-economic discussions on Thailand’s adaptation against China-Laos train project at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, hosted by Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister, as the meeting chairman.
The meeting aimed to exchange information between departments related with the multilateral infrastructure and business initiative, development of the missing link, guideline to drive economic relations post-COVID-19 under changing geopolitics and economic connection to integrate Thailand’s economy with the world. the President of NEDA mentioned the NEDA’s Country Strategy (2022 -2027), cooperation strategy with the Lao People's Democratic Republic, progress of projects under NEDA, and connection of NEDA projects with Chinese-Lao train project under the rail network development in the North-South Economic Corridor: NSEC.
