NEDA Delegation Visits Laos to Follow Up the Progress on the 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan – Bolikhamxai) Construction Project

On January 18, 2024, Mr. Thaweesit Yuprasert, Project and Engineering Consultant, along with Ms. Dariwan Prempoomwate, Director of Project Operation and Management Bureau I, and a delegation from NEDA, joined Mr. Phitsaphonh Philavong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Road Transport, and their teams, including consultants and construction contractors, on a site visit to monitor and discuss the ongoing construction of the 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan - Bolikhamsai) in the Bolikhamxai District of Lao PDR. This project, which is a financial cooperation effort between NEDA and the government of Lao PDR, facilitated through a complete loan of 1,380,067,000 baht, had achieved 90.09% completion by the end of December 2023.

NEDA Participates in The Round Table Meeting among Development Cooperation Agencies of ASEAN Member Countries and Japan in Tokyo, Japan
Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), along with Mr. Rapipit Promnart, Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau, attended The Round Table Meeting among Development Cooperation Agencies of ASEAN Member Countries and Japan. The meeting was held in Tokyo, Japan, bringing together representatives from five key organizations: (1) Indonesian Agency for International Development (Indonesian AID), (2) International Cooperation and Development Division (Malaysia), (3) Technical Cooperation Directorate (Singapore), (4) Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and (5) Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

On October 8, 2024, Professor Tongthong Chandransu, Chairperson of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), along with Mr. Kirati Veruwan, NEDA Vice President, attended the handover ceremony of the detailed design study for the construction of the Chiang Man-Luang Prabang Bridge in Laos. Ms. Wilawan Phayanoi, Advisor on Financial and Fiscal System Development, accepted the handover at the 150th Anniversary Building of the Ministry of Finance on October 7, 2024.
