On 3rd - 4th November 2021, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) attended the 22nd Thailand- Lao PDR Joint Commission (JC) Online Meeting held by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, acted as a chairman of the meeting along with H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR.
The meeting aimed to work together to set directions and guidelines for Thailand and Lao PDR cooperation under the concept of "Strong and Sustainable Collaborative Restoration” which covers all 4 dimensions as follows; (1) Political and Security Cooperation (2) Economic Cooperation (3) Cooperation to Promote Partnership for Close Relationship and (4) Subregional and Regional Cooperation. This meeting also congratulated on the success of the project under NEDA’s mission, which supports and promotes Seamless Connectivity, such as Route 11 (R11) Development Project between Krok Khaw Dor- Ban Non Sawan-Sa Na Kam-Bann Wang-Bann Nam Sang and Hongsa-Ban Chiang Man (Chom Phet, Luang Prabang) Road Construction Project. They also agreed to expedite infrastructure cooperative development, such as the construction of 5th Thai-Lao PDR Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan - Bolikhamxai) and Railway Construction Project between Thanaleng- Vientiane (Phase 2), as well as agreeing to close support the coordination of other projects in the near future.
