NEDA President Announces Firm ’’No Gift Policy’’ for Fiscal Year 2024, Rejecting All Forms of Gifts

On December 21, 2023, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), declared a stringent policy against accepting any gifts by government officials in line with their duties. He called for a collective commitment from all executives, officials, and employees to adhere to this 'No Gift Policy' throughout the fiscal year 2024—before, during, and after their service periods. A dedicated meeting to reinforce this policy was organized by NEDA on January 17, 2024. The aim was to bolster awareness among all staff members about the importance of maintaining integrity, fostering positive attitudes, and prioritizing the welfare of the public over personal gains while executing their roles. The meeting also introduced specific protocols related to the No Gift Policy, mandating strict compliance by all NEDA personnel during their official tasks. This session took place in meeting room 1 at the NEDA Office, outlining the expected conduct to ensure the policy's effectiveness.

The guidelines are outlined as follows:

1. Refrain from both giving and receiving any form of gifts or presents from external individuals or organizations during any event or festival.

2. Refrain from attempting to acquire gifts, any type of gifts, or any unlawful advantages.

3. Offer congratulations or good wishes to one another on special occasions using greeting cards or via social media platforms, rather than tangible gifts.

4. Abstain from providing or accepting any means or benefits connected to the execution of duties.
