NEDA and JICA jointly organize a study visit on “Thai-Lao Cross-Border Railway Development” for representatives from Bhutan and Cambodia.

On February 17, 2025, the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), led by Colonel Saranyu Viriyavechkul, Vice President of NEDA, facilitated a briefing session for representatives from the Department of Surface Transportation, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT) of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and the Department of Railway, Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The session focused on the role of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) in railway development between Thailand and Lao PDR. The objective of this study visit is to enhance knowledge of international railway development in Bhutan and Cambodia through the adoption of best practices and knowledge transfer from Thai and Lao agencies.

Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), along with representatives, participated in a Buddhist chanting and almsgiving ceremony for the monks of Wat Ampawan to mark the New Year 2025. The event was presided over by Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Minister of Finance, and included a merit-making and almsgiving ceremony at the Ministry of Finance on January 6, 2025.

On December 20, 2024, Mr. Paitoon Chanthanapaiboon, Treasury Bureau Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), extended congratulations to SME D Bank on its 23rd anniversary. The event, held at SME Bank Tower, was marked by a donation from NEDA to support underprivileged patients at the Neurological Institute of Thailand under the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health.
