NEDA and JICA jointly organize a study visit on “Thai-Lao Cross-Border Railway Development” for representatives from Bhutan and Cambodia.

On February 17, 2025, the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), led by Colonel Saranyu Viriyavechkul, Vice President of NEDA, facilitated a briefing session for representatives from the Department of Surface Transportation, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT) of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and the Department of Railway, Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The session focused on the role of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) in railway development between Thailand and Lao PDR. The objective of this study visit is to enhance knowledge of international railway development in Bhutan and Cambodia through the adoption of best practices and knowledge transfer from Thai and Lao agencies.
