NEDA Presents Project Progress on Stung Bot Border Checkpoint Development in Cambodia to the Deputy Minister of Finance

On 8 June 2025, Ms. Hathaitat Mahasukon, Director of the Bureau of Project Management 2 (BPM 2), represented NEDA in presenting the agency’s progress on the Stung Bot Permanent Border Checkpoint Development and the connecting road to National Road No. 5 in Cambodia (Stung Bot Project) to Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, during his official inspection visit to Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province.

This project is a financial assistance cooperation between NEDA and Cambodia. Phase 1 was completed in August 2023, aiming to accommodate growing cross-border freight volumes and to reduce Cambodian customs clearance times from 1–2 hours to just 10–15 minutes, thereby boosting cross-border trade efficiency. NEDA is preparing Phase 2, which will include construction of the disease control checkpoint, warehouses, sanitation areas, and storage for bridge maintenance equipment, along with integrating freight transfer into rail transport.
