NEDA Provides Earthquake Relief Aid to Myanmar

Professor Tongthong Chandransu, Chairman of the Board of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), accompanied by Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, NEDA President, Colonel (Ret.) Dr. Saranyu Viriyavejakul, NEDA Vice President, and agency officials, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. U Zaw Zaw Soe, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Thailand.

During the visit, NEDA formally presented humanitarian aid on behalf of the agency to support relief and recovery efforts for those affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar. The handover ceremony took place at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Thailand on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Signing of the Letter of Intent between the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)
On February 27, 2025, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mr. Rodrigo Salvado, Director General of the Operational Partnership Department, representing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) during the Finance in Common Summit 2025 (FiCS 2025) in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa. The LOI serves as a framework outlining the cooperation between NEDA and AIIB in sustainable infrastructure development, aiming to advance regional development in alignment with the goals of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The cooperation is set within a five-year operational framework to drive long-term, impactful development initiatives.
