NEDA Holds Meeting with AFD to Discuss Regional Cooperation Strategies

The Board of Directors of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency, led by Professor Tongthong Chandransu, Chairman of the Board, along with other NEDA Board members and executives from NEDA, held a meeting at the headquarters of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). They were welcomed by Mr. Cyrille Bellier, Director of Europe, Middle-East, Asia Department, along with AFD representatives.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to present in-depth information about the roles and missions of their respective organizations. AFD presented an overview of its operations in the region, including key projects in Thailand. Furthermore, AFD emphasized its commitment to supporting development in the Greater Mekong Subregion, particularly in the areas of renewable energy, climate-resilient infrastructure, and sustainable urban development.
NEDA highlighted its crucial role in supporting financial and technical cooperation with Thailand's neighboring countries and expressed its readiness to collaborate with AFD in all dimensions. In addition, both parties discussed key issues such as project development cooperation, the consideration of potential areas for joint projects, especially in energy and urban development, and the promotion of strategic cooperation within existing cooperation frameworks. These discussions can lead to the establishment of guidelines for future joint operations.
