NEDA Monitors Progress on the 5th Thai - Lao Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan–Bolikhamxay) Construction Project

On January 16, 2025, Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), together with NEDA representatives, joined Mr. Sysouphanh Chansavat, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Roads, Lao PDR, and a team of consultants and construction contractors to monitor the progress of the 5th Thai - Lao Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan–Bolikhamxay) construction project. The meeting took place in Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR.

This project is a financial cooperation initiative between NEDA and Lao PDR, structured as a full loan totaling 1,380,067,000 THB. As of December 2024, the project had reached 98.29% completion and is expected to be fully completed by May 2025.

Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), along with representatives, participated in a Buddhist chanting and almsgiving ceremony for the monks of Wat Ampawan to mark the New Year 2025. The event was presided over by Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Minister of Finance, and included a merit-making and almsgiving ceremony at the Ministry of Finance on January 6, 2025.
