Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA) organizes press visit activities for the route Luang Prabang - Vientiane between 3 - 5 August 2023. Professor Thongthong Chandrangsu, an expert member of the Board of Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), serves as the chairman along with Mr. Phiramet Wuthithorn Netirak, director of NEDA. and Colonel Sarunyu Viriyawetkul, deputy director of NEDA, joined more than 20 Thai media delegates to study and visit the second phase of the Thanaleng-Vientiane railway construction project in Section 2 (Thai-Laos Railway) or Vientiane Railway Station (Ban Kham Sawat), Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). It is an expansion of the rail transportation system of Lao PDR connecting from Nong Khai - Thanaleng - Vientiane route. At present, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Lao PDR, has sent officials of the Lao National Railway Enterprise (SFL) to attend training sessions with the State Railway of Thailand to support the full-service opening. Lao PDR estimates that when it officially opens, it will receive an average of 7,500 passengers per day.
