NEDA Participates in Joint Evaluation with Lao Department of Roads and Ministry of Finance
On 2 July 2025, Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of NEDA, along with representatives from the Department of Highways (Thailand), the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, participated in a Joint Evaluation meeting in Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Sysouphanh Chansavat, Deputy Director General of the Lao Department of Roads, and Mr. Theutthoune Soukaloun, Deputy Director General of the Department of Public Debt Management under the Ministry of Finance, Lao PDR. Discussions focused on preliminary findings and recommendations from the Post-Evaluation of the completed road construction project between Hongsa and Ban Chiangman (Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province).
The primary objective of the meeting was to analyze the project’s achievements in terms of economic, social, environmental impact, and regional connectivity. The insights and feedback gathered will be compiled into a comprehensive evaluation report to guide future collaboration. The process enhances transparency, shared accountability, and data-driven development, in support of sustainable bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Lao PDR.
