On March 14, 2025, the Thailand - Lao PDR Press Caravan reached its final destination at the Le Thatluang Hotel in Vientiane, where the closing ceremony was held. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Paopoom Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, and Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NEDA) (Public Organization), who waved the checkered flag to mark the official conclusion of the press caravan.
The press caravan served as a significant milestone in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and Lao PDR in the areas of logistics, trade, and tourism. The journey covered the route from Phu Du Border Checkpoint in Uttaradit Province, passing through Road No. R11, Sangthong District, and ending in Vientiane. This key transportation network will enhance cargo transport and travel between the two countries while also supporting the development of new cultural and nature-based tourism attractions. These efforts will help stimulate the local economy and further promote tourism cooperation between Thailand and Lao PDR.
