Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of NEDA and Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of NEDA and other team members attended the meeting to follow up on the progress of The Construction of Stung Bot Border Crossing Facilities (BCF) and Access Road to the National Road No. 5 (NR5), Project in the Kingdom of Cambodia with H.E. Dr. Yit Bunna Secretary of State, Ministry of Public Works and Transport: MPWT. It is the cooperation project between Thai and Cambodian governments through financial assistance in a form of concessional loan from Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA) The meeting took place in Poipet, Banteay Meanchey, the Kingdom of Cambodia on 30th November 2021.
Stung Bot Border Crossing Facilities (BCF) development project aims to facilitate mutual investment and trade, as well as supporting the expansion of products and service transfer. It is expected that the construction of Stung Bot Border Crossing Facilities (BCF) will increase trade value between Thailand and Cambodia, and facilitate product carriers for a faster product transfer.
Stung Bot Border Crossing Facilities (BCF) will be able to ease traffic congestion and product transportation in the area between Aranyaprathet Immigration Check-Point, Ban Klong Luk, Sa Kaeo, and Poipet, Banteay Meanchey. This project is a part of the support to ASEAN Connectivity, especially the connectivity of mutual infrastructure in the region. The Border Control Facilities building and the Access Road to the National Road No. 5 (NR5) in the Kingdom of Cambodia are currently under construction and expected to complete within 2022.
