Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of NEDA, led the agency’s delegation to pay a courtesy call on Mr. Litta KATTIYA, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) of Lao PDR, along with representatives from the Lao Department of Water Supply.
The visit aimed to understand the policy direction and vision for water supply system development under the Lao PDR’s 2030 Development Strategy.
NEDA also held a working session with Dr. Somchaivang DETHOUD OM, Deputy Director General of the Vientiane Department of Public Works and Transport, and Mr. Saiya SAIMOUNGKHOUN, Director General of Nampapa Nakhoneluang (NPNL), to discuss development plans and strategies.
The team visited three high-priority locations in Xaithani District, Vientiane Capital—namely, Ban Dong Bang, Ban Dong Makkhai, and Ban Tha Ngon—where there is an urgent need to increase water production capacity. A wrap-up meeting summarizing the findings and discussions was held at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Vientiane Capital during 1–2 July 2025.
