Bangkok, 4 December 2025. Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), together with the NEDA delegation, participated in a meeting with representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), led by Ms. Siriluck Chiengwong, Head of Office, UNFPA in Thailand, as well as representatives from UNFPA Bhutan. The meeting was also joined online by the UNFPA Bhutan delegation, led by Ms. Andrea M. Wojnar, UNFPA Representative, India Country Office, to discuss proposed cooperation projects with the Kingdom of Bhutan.
During the discussion, UNFPA Bhutan presented the conceptual framework for the proposed cooperation project. NEDA sought additional information to support its consideration of potential cooperation and provided an opportunity for an exchange of information on past operational experiences with the Kingdom of Bhutan, the principles and conditions of NEDA’s assistance, as well as coordination mechanisms and the roles of UNFPA in project implementation. This exchange aimed to foster and strengthen future cooperation for the benefit of the Kingdom of Bhutan. The meeting was held at the UNFPA Thailand Office.
