On 12 November 2025, Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), and his delegation attended a consultation and knowledge-exchange meeting on tourism development in southern Lao PDR and explored collaborative opportunities for sustainable tourism advancement in Champasak Province, a region with high potential for economic and tourism-driven growth. The meeting was held with the Education and Tourism Sector Team, led by Mr. Akira Ohara, Project Manager, DMO & Tourism Development, Ingerosec Japan, to promote sustainable tourism development in the Lao PDR in accordance with the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), which serves as an international benchmark ensuring environmental, social, and economic sustainability in tourism management.
