Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar — September 9, 2025 — Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), together with a delegation, attended a meeting to receive feedback on the draft Country Strategy 2026–2030. The meeting was held in collaboration with the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER) and other relevant government agencies in Nay Pyi Taw, Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The session was chaired by Dr. Marlar Myo Nyunt, Director General of the Foreign Economic Relations Department, MIFER, which serves as Myanmar’s principal agency in undertaking international development cooperation.
The meeting provided NEDA with an important opportunity to present the draft Country Strategy 2026–2030, which outlines the framework for development cooperation between NEDA and neighboring countries over the next five years. The strategy emphasizes support for sustainable economic growth (Sustainability) while enhancing the capacity to adapt effectively to ongoing changes (Resilience).
The proposed framework highlights an integrated development approach that addresses economic, social, and environmental dimensions under the guiding principle of “Cross-Border Value Creation.” This approach aims to reinforce NEDA’s future operations by promoting sustainable development goals (SDGs), fostering economic growth alongside socially and environmentally responsible development, and advancing initiatives that respond to the challenges of climate change.
