NEDA consults with The Ministry of Transport, Vietnam on the issue of the cooperation to develop and Development Project of route 12 (R12)

On 15 th March 2019 at The Agricultural Research Development Agency, Mr. Nutthapol Prasobchoke, Administration Bureau Director, Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) joined the congratulation on the occasion of the 16 th anniversary of the founding of The Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) and made the donation to Thai Red Cross Children Home as a financial aid to orphans and underprivileged children.

On 7 th March 2019 at Sun Tower building, Thanon Vibhavadi Rangsit, Prof. Satoru Matsumoto (Ph.D.), Professor, Faculty of Intercultural Communication, Hosei University met with Senior Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President, Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization): NEDA and other officers involved to consult about Environmental and Social Safeguards Guideline of NEDA and the assistance on the Two-Way Road Improvement Project which will link Dawei Special Economic Zone: DSEZ and Thailand-Myanmar Border.

From 5 th -6 th March 2019, Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President and Mr. Rapipit Promnart, Policy and Planning Bureau Director, two representatives from Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization): NEDA attended a conference and met with Dr. Souphanh Keomixay, Minister of Planning and Investment. They discussed the area selection to provide financial and academic assistance to Lao People's Democratic Republic in the Vientiane capital. They also met to acknowledge information on the project which has the potential to provide financial and academic assistance. In this occasion, NEDA joined the discussion with LT. Chatchawan Sakornsin RTN., the Minister at Royal Thai Embassy Vientiane, Lao PDR to hear his opinions and suggestions about the operation in Lao PDR. NEDA also met with Mr. OSHIKIRI Koji, senior representative and Ms. Saori Yamamoto, a representative from Japan International Cooperation Agency: JICA to exchange information about the operation of the cooperation programmes for development, and to discuss the economic situation in Lao PDR.

Senior Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President and Ms. Dariwan Prempoomwate, Project Operation and Management Bureau II Director, two representatives from Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization): NEDA, along with the representative from The Customs Department of Thailand, joined a conference and met with Mr. Kyaw Htin, Director General, The Customs Department of The Republic of the Union of Myanmar to move the operation of ASEAN Single Window (ASW) forward. The conference aimed to link data on electronic certificates of origin under ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement: ATIGA e-Form D using ASW. Additionally, system development and solutions to operational obstacles were also discussed. Thailand was prepared to provide technical and financial support as a President of the ASEAN Summit this year in Yangon, The Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 1 st March 2019.

On 25 February 2019 at Ministry of Commerce, Naypyidaw, Republic of the Union of Myanmar; Senior Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) NEDA participated in the conference with Myanmar team to prepare for Joint Coordinating Committee Meeting for the Comprehensive Development in the Dawei special Economic Zone and Its Related Project Areas (JCC). Mrs.Pattama Teanravisitsagool, Deputy Secretary-General, Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) acted as a leader from Thailand and U Aung Soe, Permanent Secretary along with Dr. Myint San, Vice- President (of the DSEZMC Management Committee) and Dr.Tin Htoo Naing, Secretary to DSEZMC acted as the leaders from Myanmar.

On 22nd February 2019 at Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia; Senior Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) and NEDA officers met with H.E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of State, Ministry of Public Works and Transport: MPWT and the relevant officers in order to discuss about Future Cooperation Projects between NEDA and MPWT. In this occasion, MPWT has offered the project with basic need for assistances from NEDA which will be run later according to the process.

On 22nd February 2019 at Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Siem Reap Kingdom of Cambodia, Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President, Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) and others from NEDA participated in the conference to approve Interim Report, the study of possibility and the design on a detail of NR67 Improvement Project covering Siem Reap- Anlong Veng- Chong Sangam, Kingdom of Cambodia, with H.E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of State, Ministry of Public Works and Transport: MPWT along with relevant officers from Cambodia and representatives from a group of agencies consulting the project operation.

On 21st February 2019 in Kingdom of Cambodia, Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President, Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) and others from NEDA, along with the officers from Ministry of Public Works and Transport: MPWT and representatives from a group of agencies consulting a study of possibility and a design on a detail of NR67 Improvement Project, travelled to survey NR67 project area covering Siem Reap- Anlong Veng- Chong Sangam, Kingdom of Cambodia which is a main road connecting Siem Reap to Thailand through Srisaket Province. The total distance of the road is about 134 kilometers starting from Siem Reap and ending at Chong Sangam Permanent Crossing Point, Oddar Meancheay Province.

At Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia on 18th February 2019, Senior Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President, Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization): NEDA and others, along with representatives from The Customs Department of Thailand joined the conference to push forward the operation of ASEAN Single Window (ASW) with The General Department of Coustoms and Excise, Kingdom of Cambodia. Its aim was to connect information of ATIGA Form D through ASW within 2019 – during a period of Thailand as an ASEAN chairman. Direction for system development and solution for any problems and obstacles during operation were discussed. Thailand was also ready to provide the technical and financial support.

At Interlink Tower, Bangna Bangkok on 22nd February 2019, Mr. Nutthapol Prasobchoke, Administration Bureau Director, Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) participated in religious ceremony and gave a gift basket to congratulate on 39th year of Thansettakij Newspaper.

At Sakaewal room, EXIM BANK on 22nd February 2019, Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency congratulated and gave a donation to Ramathibodi Foundation under HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of EXIM BANK, Thailand. Mr. Pisit Serewiwattana, President of EXIM BANK acted as a representative.
