On Friday 17th February 2023, Colonel Dr. Saranyu Wiriyawetchakun, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), was the speaker of NEDA Talk in Uni at the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, Chiang Mai University. Assistant Professor Dr. Narut Charoensri, the Vice Dean of the Department of Research, welcomed at the auditorium of the 50-Year Building of the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, Chiang Mai University. The objectives of the mentioned project are to develop the knowledge and understanding about the operations of NEDA and to provide the knowledge about the development cooperation of NEDA. In the mentioned activity, Mr. Raphipat Phrommanat, the Directr of the Policy and Planning Bureau, the representative of NEDA who had a lecture for the students with the topic, "the Official Cooperation for the Developments in Mekhong Basin". In this occasion, NEDA discussed about the guidelines for developing the research cooperation between NEDA and the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration in the future.

Mr. Keerati Weluwan, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) rejoiced with the 29th anniversary of the bank. NEDA also donated money to the projects of Ramathibodo Hospital Building and Yothi Innovation Building. Dr. Rak Worakitphakhothorn, the Managing Director of EXIM BANK welcomed and accepted the donation at the head office of EXIM BANK on 17th February 2023.

Mr. Keerati Weluwan, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) rejoiced with the 91st anniversary of the Excise Department. NEDA also donated money to the account, “Excise Department for Society”. Dr. Anekniti Nitithanpraphat, the Director-General of the Excise Department welcomed and accept the donation at the Public Officer Club Building of the Excise Department on 17th February 2023.

Colonel Saranyoo Wiriyawetchakun, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency, and the officers of NEDA followed the progresses of the development projects of Stung Bot Permanent Border Checkpoint and the road linking to the Road No. 5 of the Kingdom of Cambodia, surveyed and collected the data of the studied area in Stung Bot Primary School) in order to be prepared for corporate social environmental responsibilities (CSER) in the Kingdom of Cambodia on 8th February 2023.

Colonel Saranyoo Wiriyawetchakun, the Deputy Director of NEDA, and the colleagues followed the progress of the development projects of Stung Bot Border Checkpoint and the road linking to the Road No. 5 of the Kingdom of Cambodia as well as attended the conference with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), which was led by H.E. Dr. Yit Bunna, the Secretary of State. In this occasion, H.E. Oum Reatrey, the Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province, joined the policy-based discussions and found the control measures for improving the projects. The implementations were complete by the deadline in Ban Stung Bot, Poi Pet Sub-District, Ojarow District, Banteay Meanchey Province, the Kingdom of Cambodia on 8th February 2023.

Colonel Saranyoo Wiriyawetchakun, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) and the Engineering and Project Advisor, led the colleagues to survey the areas of the Road No. 68 improvement project in Chong Chom/O Smach- Samrong – Kralanh of the Kingdom of Cambodia (NR68 Project) with the officers of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and the Department of Public Works and Transport (DPWT) of Cambodia in Siem Reap and Udom Meechai Province during 5th – 6th Janaury 2023 in order to attend the conference and survey the current conditions of the NR68 Road, which is 116 kilometers. The road links the Northeastern part of Cambodia (Udon Meechai Province) and the lower Northeastern part of Thailand (Surin Province, Buri Ram Province and Srisaket Province) through Chong Chom Boder Checkpoint in Kap Choeng District in Surin Province. It is also an importantly potential route for the tourism, economic developments, trades and investments between Thailand and Cambodia. It also improves the competitiveness of the Southern Economic Corridor of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), which was led by Adjunct Professor Thongthong Chantharansu, a committee of NEDA, Mr. Peerameet Wutthithornnetirak, the Director, managers and offices of NEDA had a field trip in Vientiane – Vang Vieng – Luang Prabang in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) during 25th – 28th January 2023.

On 19th January 2023, Mr. Raphiphat Phrommanarot, the Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), met Mr. Racha Areephak, the Director of the Division of Economic Relation and Cooperation Promotions of the Department of International Economic Affairs, in order to discuss about the cooperation for the developments in Bhutan under the framework of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC)as well as the guidelines for NEDA to support/drive the concept of PRO BIMSTEC, which is the main concept of Thailand as the leader of BIMSTEC for the potential projects with Bhutan.

On 18th January 2023, Colonel Saranyu Wiriyawetchakun, the Deputy Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and Mr. Raphiphat Phrommanarot, the Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau, met Mr. Watthanawit Kotchasenee, the Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) in order to discuss about the projects and cooperation according to the requirements of Bhutan’s developments for planning the potential projects between Bhutan and NEDA.

Mr. Peeramet Wutthithongnetirak, the Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), welcomed the representatives of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) from Cambodia led by H.E. Tauch Chankosal, the Permanent Secretary of State, in order to discuss about the operations and management for improving the Road Number 67 in Siem Reap-Anlong Veng-Juam/Sangam in the Kingdom of Cambodia (NR67 Project) and operate under the loan agreements to be prepared for conducting the project according to the conditions of the loan agreements on 11th January 2023 at Sun Towers Building on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.

Mr. Peeramet Wutthithongnetirak, the Director of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and Mr. Raphiphat Phrommanarot, the Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau, met the World Bank’s manager in Thailand in order to discuss about the cooperation between NEDA and the World Bank for developing Khong Basin Region at the World Bank Office in Thailand on 12th January 2023.

The Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public) (NEDA) attended the seminar considering the opinions of the stakeholders of the design consultations in order to stud the design details of Chiang Man – Luang Pra Bang Bridge in Lao PDR that was held by the consultation companies. Mrs. Siribhorn Suphanthong, the Deputy Governor of Luang Pra Bang, was the speaker opening the seminar. Mr. Keerati Weluwan, the Deputy Director, was the representative of the NEDA telling the background and objectives of the project at the Public Civil Works and Transportations Department’s Conference Room in Luang Pra Bang in Lao PDR on 12th January 2023.
