NEDA Followed Up the Progress of the 2nd Phase of the Thai – Laos Railway Construction Project (Tha Na Laeng – Vientiane) Part 2

On 23rd September 2022, Mr. Peeramet Wuttithornnetirat, the Director of the Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA, the representatives and Chanthon Saiyakon, the Deputy Director of the Department of Railways mutually followed up the progress of 2nd Phase of the Thai – Laos Railway Construction Project  (Tha Na Laeng – Vientiane) Part 2 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The mentioned project is the financial cooperation between NEDA and Lao PDR. It consisted of the loan (70 percent) and allowance (30 percent).  The total amount was 994,680,525.69 baht. The progress was 99.2 percent in August 2022.

On April 3, 2024, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and his delegation visited Mr. Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing, People’’s Republic of China. The visit, at the invitation of the AIIB, aimed to discuss collaborative approaches for financial assistance in developing infrastructure within the Mekong sub-region and to exchange visions for infrastructure development in the area.
