NEDA participated in a meeting to discuss on project implementation project to assess the benefits and impacts of the completed 5 Water supply system development projects in Lao PDR.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, Colonel Dr. Sarunyu Wiriyavejkul, Deputy Director of the Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and the NEDA delegation attended a meeting to discuss with the Department of Water Supply (DWS), Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT). The meeting was conducted to examine project implementation to assess the benefits and impact of the completed project to develop 5 water supply systems (Post Evaluation of the Water Supply Construction for Five Districts) in Lao PDR.

The delegation of NEDA met with H.E. Vanhsaveng OUTTHACHACK, Deputy Director-General, Department of Water Supply, and representatives from DWS. Both sides welcomed the close relationship between the two countries. In this regard, Colonel Dr. Sarunyu Wiriyavejkul presented the background Objectives and importance of project implementation. Dr. Pornwipha Klangsin, Project manager, has explained the Study Framework and Action Plan so that the meeting was aware of the guidelines for joint operations in the next phase. Also, collect questionnaires and In-Depth Interviews for various target groups to operate the project according to the plan. In addition, DWS has presented directions and strategies for water supply and sanitation operations, which Lao PDR has currently set as a medium-term plan. In addition, the meeting discussed the collaborative approach for human resource development (HRD) related to the joint mission of DWS. The meeting agreed on a common principle and work closely together.
