Joint Project Monitoring Mission in Xaiyabuli Province and Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR.

During 2 – 3 November 2017, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, Vice President, and Mr. Vanthong Bouttanavong, Deputy Director General of Department of Roads of Lao PDR led the Project Monitoring Mission to monitor the progress of construction works of Hongsa District – Ban Chiangman (Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province) Road Construction Project in Xaiyabuli Province and Luang Prabang Province.
 
The project aims to promote tourism link between two tourist attractions; Nan Province and Luang Prabang by shorten the travel time from Huai Kon border checkpoint in Nan to Luang Prabang from the current 6 - 7 hours to 3 - 4 hours.

On April 3, 2024, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and his delegation visited Mr. Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing, People’’s Republic of China. The visit, at the invitation of the AIIB, aimed to discuss collaborative approaches for financial assistance in developing infrastructure within the Mekong sub-region and to exchange visions for infrastructure development in the area.
